Why isn't this shader transparent? Why is the terrain black instead of transparent?

The basic idea of the shader is that it should cause the texture a pixel approaches 0 on the Y axis. I got the "approaching the Y axis" part working, but it's not turning transparent, it's just...black. I don't know much about shaders, I'm pretty sure there's something I don't know that I need to do.

I did that with both of my splatmap textures. Is there a way to set that on a Terrain's splatmap itself?

Check you shader rendering queue in the inspector and set it to 'Transparent'. alt text
