Question by Cawotte · Feb 03, 2018 at 02:40 PM · 2d sprites

My sprite isn't rendered correctly

Hello ! I'm learning the basics of Unity and trying to realize a Pacman game.

I got some trouble with my pacman's sprite, there's some additional darker lines that appear on the edge of the sprite, a picture is worth a thousands words :

alt text

You can see it on the bottom and left edge, and I'm a 100% sure the original sprite is pure yellow, I made it myself. And sometimes, it moves :

It also seems the sprite is slightly deformed. It's supposed to be the exact same sprite on both images. And I already disabled compression and filters (set to Point).

Do you have any idea why it does this ? Is this because I'm working on a scale of one-pixel ? They are 16px wide and tall sprites. I tried to make them bigger ( by exporting them from my editor with a ratio of 8pixel for one pixel ) and them scaling them down back in Unity to 16px wide/tall to be sure it was not a compression problem, but nothing changed.

Thanks you for any help !

Update : $$anonymous$$eanwhile, I started to replace my placeholder square walls by fancier assets, and I have those kind of bug everywhere on my map, it even shows up in the scene editor depending on how much I'm zoo$$anonymous$$g on my map. Screenshots : alt text alt text

You can see a lot of random blue lines on the screen. And they aren't at all on the sprites used to render the map.

Another point possible worth to mention : I'm using a Tilemap. The walls are directly placed on it, and I'm using its grid to place the pellets and pacman's starting point. $$anonymous$$aybe that's why the rendering is that bad ?

I am not sure but on your sprite component should be a checkbox that says CastShadow and/or ReceiveShadow. Have you tried to uncheck them?

Nah, there's isn't any option called CastShadow or ReceiveShadow ( or any similar name ) on my sprite settings or sprite components.
