Duplicate scene object and keep them connect to prefab

I do a tool to instance a resource in to scene.

This tool will find some positions and instance the specified resource to the positions.

At beginning. we just need instance a prefab to scene, and keep these connect to prefab. so that i can apply change on gameobject when prefab has been changed.

So i use PrefabUtility.InstantiatePrefab function to do. And done.

Later. my colleague say: he need combine some scene gameobject together and use my tool to create it. For example, There have 4 different object called "ob1","ob2","ob3","ob4". Then create a empty object and rename to "manager1". Then change ob1~4's parent to the "manager1". Then use tool to create "manager1".

There is a problem. PrefabUtility.InstantiatePrefab function's paramenter must a local prefab resource.

If i give it a scene gameobject, it will return null.

GameObject.Instantiate can't use because the new object will lose connect to prefab if the origin object has connect with a prefab.

I found the late request like the right menu's "Duplicate" option.

So someone know the "Duplicate" option how to comply?
