Question by dansav · Jul 26, 2011 at 07:07 PM · texturecubemap

dynamically assign texture to cube face.

HOw can I dynamically assign a texture to a cube primitive face. I cannot use a plane because of the application I'm builidng requires a mesh with depth. I want the top face to be a texture and the rest of the faces to be transparent or empty.

I need to do this from a script but I can't find any api info on how to do this. Cubemap does not appear to have any way to change a face texture. CubemapFace.PositiveX does not have anything like CubemapFace.PositiveX = some texture. it says cubemapface is only used with get and set pixels. $$anonymous$$aybe I can do it if there is a way to get/set pixels for an entire texture?

yes you can do that or, you can pack all the 6 textures into one and then apply that - using http://unity3d.com/support/documentation/ScriptReference/Texture2D.PackTextures.html
