Question by DaveA · Jul 27, 2011 at 12:24 AM · errorunity3.4

Script compile errors in 3.4 with existing DepthOfField script

Having updated to 3.4, some scripts now have errors, as warned in the release notes. I didn't expect this however with Unity scripts. DepthOfField.js for example. I tried reimporting it, still get errors. I tried re-adding the Asset, still get errors. Was it released with errors (not updated), or is there something else I should do to get updated scripts into my project?

Have you deleted the old assets? It seems some renamed files are left behind when you re-import a package.

I have not. Should I nuke the whole Image Effects folder and reimport the package?

All I did was delete the asset that was giving errors then reimport, but yes, if you're certain you haven't modified any standard assets or put any of your own files there, it doesn't hurt to delete them and re-import.

The new script is called DepthOfField34, so delete the old one and use that new one.

$$anonymous$$akes you wonder why UT bothered to try to allow both if the old one failed to compile. Would have been simpler to just use the same name (and public variables). Water had similar problems (though iirc just warnings).
