Visual Studio Requires Mono Framework

I had downloaded Unity 2018.1 just today and wanted to get started with it. I tried some stuff, but when it came to coding, visual studio which came with the download package didn’t open. It told me to install mono framwork and redirected me to mono develop website where I downloaded the thing. I installed it on my hard drive where my unity is installed, and nothing changed. It still gave me the INSTALL THIS FRICKIN FRAMEWORK. What do I do now, I see the MonoDevelop folder on my hard drive but I the thing is not working. I just can’t believe Unity installer installed something that isn’t working at all.

What you got from Mono’s web site is probably their SDK, which likely isn’t intended to plug into Unity. Try http://download.unity3d.com/download_unity/d4d99f31acba/MacEditorTargetInstaller/UnitySetup-Windows-Mono-Support-for-Editor-2018.1.0f2.pkg

I am having the same issue and have not found any solutions. Please let me know if you find something that resolves this issue! @EfeTheGulboy ,I am having the exact same issue, no idea how to resolve it however.

I have been suffering from the exact same issue and just got some clarity from the Unity Support staff. You should first uninstall Visual Studios and Mono. Visit the forum link below and then follow the linked guide on how to uninstall everything very quickly. You should then reinstall Visual Studios and the MonoFramework simultaneously through the Unity Downloader. I did all of this and Visual Studios now works for me. Good luck!
