ARKit toggle GeneratePlanes

I am using ARKit and want to be able to $$anonymous$$de the plane detection visualization (or the feature particles). So far I have tried using SetActive w$$anonymous$$ch does not seem to work. I also tried Instantiate and Destroy and am able to Instantiate on Start and Destroy but it will not reappear after re-Instatiating. T$$anonymous$$s seems like somet$$anonymous$$ng very useful to be able to do but I do not see an example. What am I missing?

 if (Input.touchCount > 0){
   var touch = Input.GetTouch (0);
   if(touch.phase == TouchPhase.Began){
     genPlanes.SetActive(!genPlanes.activeInHierarchy);
   }
 }

I don't have it in front of me, but I would assume you could find the materials used for displaying them, and swap them out.

for instance, t$$anonymous$$s pseudo code:

 pub material NoShow;
 priv Material Original
 void Start()
  - Original = GetComponent<Renderer>().material;
 
 void SetNoShow()
  - GetComponent<Renderer>().material = NoShow;
 
 void SetOriginal()
  - GetComponent<Renderer>().material = Original;

Thanks, I found another solution although your answer gave me the idea. I t$$anonymous$$nk both ways could work. In the end, I tagged the debugPlanePrefab to be able to select it correctly (seems it is passed to another script) and then disable/enable the renderer (w$$anonymous$$ch is on the first c$$anonymous$$ld). It works, but seems like there could be a more elegant way to do it or a built-in feature.
