Best way to render GameObjects?

I'm playing around with this asset that creates a voxel planet (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2P3KCl2M5gOUkFWcXNvdmhqWEU/edit). After creating the planet, it's 1.5 million tris and 7.1 million verts.

I know a lot of other factors apply but I'm assuming this wouldn't run smooth on mobile devices? It runs at around 90fps in the Unity player. Any suggestions on optimizing this for mobile devices? A player would need to be able to zoom all the way out to view the entire planet so would LOD be the best route to try? However I'm not sure if the asset already has that built in.

I was also wondering what would be the best way to destroy an individual block in a chunk (similar to how the editor for the asset works)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

why don't you check if the asset has it built in first? I know from No $$anonymous$$ans Sky that they run dynamic LODs, so yes, that would be an option.
