Rigid body acts frozen and doesn't rotate on collision

hello I have a prefab that contains a cylinder object with mesh colider and rigidbody attached. I made sure that freeze rotation is off. the problem is that the object doesn't act normal in case of colision. I mean for example when this cylinder hit another object it just bounces back in the same situation. what am i missing here?

Two mesh colliders will not collide unless one is set to convex which produces undesirable results for collisions in many cases. The cylinder should use a capsule collider.

After you've checked your colliders check to make sure your rigid bodies have reasonable mass parameters, and physics materials. If the problem is that the object receiving the collision is not pushed onCollision it may be that the receiving object is set to kinematic, meaning that it retains physical properties(such as it's mass, but does not react to force applied to it.

The energy conservation behaves sort of like this: m_1v_1+m_2v_2 = m_1(v_1+v_2) + m_2

Mesh colliders are best used for terrain and non-moving objects, try a different colldier like a capsule collider. You can use several colliders to approximate the shape of the model.

If you mean that the cylinder doesnt roll, maybe it has grip = 0 ? So it behaves like ice, not rolling but sliding.
