Quaternions aiming problem

I've been trying to solve this for a whole week now , so i decided to ask for your help here :) i'm currently using this script

         var mouse = GameObject.FindGameObjectWithTag("Aim");
         target = mouse.transform;
     }
     
     void LateUpdate()
     {
         Vector2 Direction = target.position - transform.position;
         float angle = Mathf.Atan2(Direction.x,-Direction.y) * Mathf.Rad2Deg;
         Quaternion rotation = Quaternion.AngleAxis(angle,Vector3.forward);
         rotation.x = 0;
         rotation.y = 0;
         transform.rotation = Quaternion.Slerp(transform.rotation,rotation,Time.deltaTime*5);

to override my chest bone animation so it could aim at my cursor (where it's position is stored at the "target" gameobject) only problem is that when i flip the player to look left the rotation is so wrong , it rotates a 180 degrees in the Y-axis by it's self so the player seems Awkward alt text while it behaves perfectly when it's not flipped alt text , Tried many solutions on the forum but they were all either old or too complicated
