SSAO not working with tree billboards iOS

Hello,

So I have tried to add the SSAO image effect to my game. And it works perfectly fine, except with the unity tree's and their billboards (using the Nature/Soft Occlusion Leaves shaders). It works all fine inside the Editor, but when I run it on my iOS device (Metal supported) it does not work properly. As you can see in the image attached, the trees are rendered on top of everything else.

Does anybody have an idea how that can be fixed?

Btw: I already tried to set the renderque of the SSAO shader to 3000 on awake, so that it is higher than that of the soft occlusions leaves, but that did not seem to have an effect...

[EDIT]

So for the moment I have been able to fix it by switching to deferred rendering, but as it works with forward rendering in the editor, I would really like to switch back as soon as there is a solution :)
