Horizontal layout group not working on canvas

Working on a card game, 2D project, mi card object has 1 or more of those elements: image
text
sprite

When I added text a canvas was generated (using world canvas right now) The problem is Horizontal Layout Group not working (tryied Grid layout too) As Im very new, Im very disoriented. I put the Layout in canvas:

canvas
-----CardObject
----------Image
----------Text
-----CardObject2

And other test was to create other Game object containing the Layout Group:

canvas
---GameObject
----------CardObject
---------------Image
---------------Text
----------CardObject2
