          Vector2 position;
          RectTransformUtility.ScreenPointToLocalPointInRectangle (InventoryManager.Instance.canvas.transform as RectTransform, Input.mousePosition, InventoryManager.Instance.canvas.worldCamera,out (position));
          InventoryManager.Instance.HoverObject.transform.position = InventoryManager.Instance.canvas.transform.TransformPoint (position);

you just need to increase the vector by an x amount. position + new Vector2(0, 1); will offset by 1 the y, you can use Random.Range(minvar, maxvar) for offsetting rather than one bettween a max and a min value.

yes i tried but the thing is, in my code above(i know its hard to read) the RectTransformUtility.ScreenPointToLocalPointInRectangle I GUESS, overrides the + new Vector(x,y) afterwards so it doesnt work. As you can see i use my input.mouseposition as a position for the hover icon. this code snippet runs in Update.

increment the position Just before you assigned

//HERE position+= new Vector3(0,400,0);

Inventory$$anonymous$$anager.Instance.HoverObject.transform.position = Inventory$$anonymous$$anager.Instance.canvas.transform.TransformPoint (position);

i have never used that method but it should work

increment the vector3, use big numbers for testing like 300 since 1 when using recttransform is almost not perceptible.
