Opening 2017.4 project in 2018.3 stuck at shader asset hashes

Trying to update my project to 2018.3 first I thought it's only taking very long (2 days), but recently the asset hash calculation . stuck at different standard asset shaders. Tried to shut down unity so it might continue the process and it did, just to be stuck on the next shader file. Any ideas how could i work this out (the project is huge)
