Question by tormentoarmagedoom · Jan 24 at 11:24 AM · postmoderationusers

User -> Moderator -> something else?

Good day. (sry simple english)

Sometimes i find users making stupid posts with ads, or trolling, etc...

As a moderators, we can send the post to moderation then reject the post, so the post is removed, but we have no tools to "punish" this users, or prevent them to continue trolling/posting.

Is there any other rank after moderator for this? or only administrators can do it?

Anybody knows?

@Bunny83 @Hellium As one of most active users, you know something?

Thaanks!

Actually you should make sure that you also report the post as spam / advertising.

I think every user with 10k+ karma can edit / delete any post and see the reported posts. At least i'm able to suspend users which have a post either in the moderation queue or in the "reported queue". Lately i'm not answering many question since most the time other users are faster than me ^^. Though usually i check the latest reports and suspend user accounts which are clearly made for advertisement or spam. A lot users here do report the post so it shows up in the reported queue, even when it was already rejected in the moderation queue. I usually check the users page if it has other posts as well before finally deleting the spam posts.

ps.: The karma required is explained on the FAQ near the end.

I often see spam / advertising / completely not related to Unity (not even to computers) questions. In most of these cases, I :

  • Send the questions to moderation (if not sent yet)

  • Reject the question

  • Delete the question

  • Suspend the user

Like Bunny83, I check if the question was a simple "mistake" or deliberately asked by checking the user's profile.

Well what do you know - the SuspendUser button IS in the Mod queue! I was looking for it last month, thought it fell off, but there it is, sort of hidden away now.
