360 Stereo Capture Within unity

I want to capture some 360 stereo videos in my scene.

This Guide is outdated. Redering to the equirect does not work any more I cannot for the life of me figure out why. And the web seems to have been purged of all 360 stereo capture support documentation. Have unity decided to remove the feature it seems very strange.

Can anyone help me figure out whats going wrong. The left and right cubemap seem fine. It just doenst seem to be rendering to the equirect for whatever reason.

Also Unitys plugin Unity recorder just produces black 360 videos.

The issue occurs only when build target is android. So swapping back to windows solves this.
