Shoot a 3d ball according to mouse position

Hey I have the following problem, I want to make a click on a 3d ball and want add a force at that position where I clicked, for example like kicking a ball in football. But the problem is the ball wont move accordingly to the mouseclick it just moves forward.

I made an image to show the problem. ![alt text][1]

On the top side you can see what it should do and on the bottom side you see what it is actually doing. This is what my Code looks like, can you please give me some hints?

 public class ShootBall : MonoBehaviour {
     public Rigidbody BallRB;
     public float speed;
     // Use this for initialization
     void Start () {
         speed = 10f;
         
     }
     
     // Update is called once per frame
     void Update () {
         
     }
 
     void OnMouseUp()
     {
         ApplyForce(BallRB);
     }
 
     void ApplyForce(Rigidbody body)
     {
         Vector3 mousePos = Input.mousePosition;
         body.AddForceAtPosition(Vector3.forward * speed, mousePos, ForceMode.Impulse);
     }
 }

Hey there,

change your force application to something like this:

 body.AddForce((mousePos – transform.position).normalized * speed, ForceMode.Impulse);

At the moment you always apply a horizonal force since the vector is Vector3.forward.
