Adding animations breaks my movement?

I have created an idle and moving animations in the animator for my character, and they work fine by themselves. If that is all I have, my character moves around the world as expected. But when I try adding other animations in, even when they're unlinked in the animator, my character becomes unable to move and frozen in place.
