Trouble Positioning Dynamically Created Objects,Trouble Positioning Objects

Just started using Unity, and trying to get the hang of positioning things. Based on my code the red blocks should start perfectly on the left of this panel, but everything I have tried has put it in a weird position.

The attached image shows a green arrow, which where the red blocks should s

 private string [] level = { ",,,,,,,,,,", ",,,,,,,,,,", ",,,,,,,,,,", ",,,,,,,,,,", "27,16,11,,,11,16,27,,", };

     public GameObject gameBall;
     public GameObject gameBlock;

     private double maxObjectsColumn = 10;
     private double maxObjectsRows = 10;
     private void Awake()
     {
         //todo figure out which level theyre on
         // var arguments = SceneManager
         RectTransform gamePanelRT = gamePanel.GetComponent<RectTransform>();

         float widthPerBlock = (float)(gamePanelRT.rect.width / maxObjectsColumn);
         float heightPerBlock = (float)(gamePanelRT.rect.height / maxObjectsRows);

         float originX = gamePanelRT.rect.xMin;
         float originY = gamePanelRT.rect.yMin;

         double rowNum = 0;
         double columnNum = 0;
         foreach(string row in level)

                 if(column == "")
                 {
                     columnNum++;
                     continue;
                 }

                 double xMod = columnNum % maxObjectsColumn;
                 double yMod = rowNum % maxObjectsRows;

                 float xPos = (float)( widthPerBlock * xMod);
                 float yPos = (float)(heightPerBlock * yMod);
                 //add block to screen
                 GameObject block = Instantiate(gameBlock);
                 RectTransform blockRT = block.GetComponent<RectTransform>();
                 //blockRT.position = new Vector3(0, 0);

                 block.transform.position = gamePanel.transform.position;
                 //block.transform.parent = gamePanelRT;
                 blockRT.SetParent(gamePanel.transform);
                 blockRT.SetInsetAndSizeFromParentEdge(RectTransform.Edge.Left, xPos, yPos);//xPos);
                 blockRT.sizeDelta = new Vector2(widthPerBlock, heightPerBlock);
                 //blockRT.position = new Vector3(xPos, yPos);
                 columnNum++;
             }
             rowNum++;
         }

     }

I am sure it is a quick fix, but I am stuck.
