Unity app fails on Android Pie

I am using Unity 2018.3.1f1 and am able to successfully build 64-bit compliant abb and upload to Google play store. The app works fine on all versions of Android except Android 9 (Pie). When opened the app loads a white screen and just hangs. The app also works fine on IOS, Mac OS and Windows. I have tried various suggestions on these forums such as: 32-but buffer setting, Disabling Auto Graphics API, forcing Target API =Android 9 etc. Any suggestions to get us past this roadblock?

Start looking at the messages that logcat throws you. They must give some sort of insight.
