Distance between Player and Game Object is not updated

HI! I have a mystery!

In one scene I have several cubes. The goal is to display only cubes that are close (3 meters) to the Player.

When the player moves, the nearest cubes should appear and the more distant ones disappear.

  • All cubes have this same script *. At the beginning the text (debug) displays the correct distance between the Player and the nearest cube.

But even as I move away from this cube and towards the others, the text showing my increased distance from the first one, but should display the distance from the nearest current cube. So the other cubes are not checking the new position of the Player, thee distance is always calculated in relation to the first cube. My code below

Does anyone know how to solve this mystery?

 public GameObject Player = null;
 public GameObject Cube = null;
  
 private float Distance_;

 private void Update()    {
   
     float Distance_ = Vector2.Distance(this.Cube.transform.position, Player.transform.position);
     
     if (Distance_ > 3.0f )        {
          Cube.SetActive(false);
     }
     else
     {
         Cube.SetActive(true);
     }
    
     GameObject.Find("Text").GetComponent<Text>(Ypf).text = "D->: " + Distance_;
 }

}
