RaycastHit2D not moving with object

I am trying to make a rotating enemy that raycasts. What I have that works is a rotating enemy but the raycast goes only straight and never rotates with the enemy. This is what I have so far.

 public class Controller : MonoBehaviour {
 
     public float originOffSet = 0.5f;
     public float maxDisR = 10f;
     public float rotationsPerMinute = 10f;
 
     public void Update()
     {
         transform.Rotate(0f, 0f, 6.0f * rotationsPerMinute * Time.deltaTime);
     }
 
 
     private RaycastHit2D CheckRaycast(Vector2 dir)
     {
         float dirOffSet = originOffSet * (dir.x > 0 ? 1 : -1);
         Vector2 startingPos = new Vector2(transform.position.x + dirOffSet, transform.position.y);
         
         return Physics2D.Raycast(startingPos, dir, maxDisR);
     }
 
     void FixedUpdate()
     {
         RaycastCheckUpdate();
 
     }
 
     void RaycastCheckUpdate()
     {
         transform.Rotate(0f, 0f, 6.0f * rotationsPerMinute * Time.deltaTime);
         Vector2 direction = new Vector2(1,0);
         RaycastHit2D hit = CheckRaycast(direction);
         if (hit.collider)
         {
             Debug.Log("Hit" + hit.collider.name);
             Debug.DrawRay(transform.position,hit.point, Color.red,3f);
         }
             
     }
 }


I attach this code to the enemy and I add a player that has tag Player I tried changing the var direction but if its not (1,0) the raycast doesn't even show up How do I make the raycast move with the enemy as they rotate?
