Question by rsud · Sep 19, 2011 at 02:09 AM · iphoneresolutionscreen

Unity screen coordinates on iPhones 1-4? iPad?

Just getting my feet wet in Unity iPhone.

I note that Unity screen coordinates on my gen 2 touch (native screen resolution480x320) are 0,0 at the center of the screen with x being approx -50 to 50 and z being -30 to 30. Is this consistent with iPhone 4 which has a native screen resolution of 960x480? How about iPad?

I don't have the newer iPhone or iPad so don't know if I should be coding to handle these devices differently.

Thanks for any info!

I have figured out my question above is non sequitur, The screen coordinates I note above are in relation to a 3d mesh being placed in 3d space. The bounds of what appears on the screen is relative to where my camera is.

So 0,0 being the center of the screen is because the camera is at 0.-100,0 looking "down" onto x,z space.

Light dawns on boulder head :-)....
