Lens flares get huge far away

Question

I'm trying to use a lens flare to make a sniper scope glint, yet there is a problem where the farther I get away from the scope, the larger the flare gets. It can get to the point where there is this gigantic flare which is not realistic at all. Does anyone know of a possible solution for this?
