Question by Kit · May 11, 2010 at 09:47 PM · lookatwaypointsarrowpathfollowing

Waypoint System

I made a way-point arrow that goes with the character. In the game there is a hidden path to go to the next area of the game that we want the arrow to lead to. Well I used a smoothlookat which works, but I need it to pop to the next waypoint over the mountain and a third to the final point. How can make that transition?

You need to provide more details before we can help you. What do you mean by "pop"? What, specifically, do you want to happen, and when? We aren't the ones working on your game, you are, so you need to use Unity terms, not terms specific to your game.

Sorry, I am very new to Unity and have only been using it for class for a short time. I was only wanting to know how to make a transition with a SmoothLookAt to one gameobject to another.

You can store the way points in an array in order you want to travel them, add a distance check during each update and when you're within a certain distance of the current way point increment the way point index and feed the new way point position to the arrow
