stretching Ragdoll Limbs

Hey, does anyone with more ragdoll experience than me know why this guys bones are stretching?

I set his joints to be able to break easily when he ragdolls, since he is a skeleton. The issue is, the bones start stretching out as they roll on the ground.alt text

The weird thing is, when I first set him up, so he just ragdolled the moment I hit play, he was fine. The trouble started when I tried to make him start in an idle animation, and THEN ragdoll when I trigger a test button.

here is the code,

 public class RagdollOnOff1 : MonoBehaviour
 {
     public Collider MainCollider;
     public Collider[] AllColliders;
     
 
     private void Awake()
     {
         MainCollider = GetComponent<Collider>();
         AllColliders = GetComponentsInChildren<Collider>(true);
         DoRagdoll(false);
     }
 
     public void DoRagdoll(bool isRagdoll)
     {
         foreach (var col in AllColliders)
             col.enabled = isRagdoll;
         MainCollider.enabled = !isRagdoll;
         GetComponent<Rigidbody>().useGravity = !isRagdoll;
         GetComponent<Animator>().enabled = !isRagdoll;
     }
 }
 

I have tried a few things others posts recommended (enabling projection on the joints, configuring the model and remapping the Avatar using Automap, but still no success. This is my first time using ragdoll stuff.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you!
