Question by unity_TB4o-JqHUxY4fA · Jul 09, 2020 at 06:03 PM · scoreintupdate problem

Score not updating for all objects

Hi,

I built a assessment game for stroke patients and I'm trying to extract some data from it. For now, I would liketo calculate how many times any object get grabbed and display it so that the therapist can see it. However, with my script the score never updates. In fact, it only updates when I attached the script only to one object but not when I attached it to all (150). Can anyone help with this ?

Here's my code

using System.Collections; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Globalization; using System.Threading; using UnityEngine; using UnityEngine.UI;

public class GrabScore : MonoBehaviour { public Text grabscoreText; public bool alreadygrabbed = false;

 private int count;

 // Start is called before the first frame update
 void Start()
 {
     count = 0;
 }

 // Update is called once per frame
 void Update()
 {
     if (transform.GetComponent<OVRGrabbable>().isGrabbed)
     {
         if (!alreadygrabbed)
         {
             count++;
             Debug.Log("Score!");
             alreadygrabbed = true;
         }
     }
     if (!transform.GetComponent<OVRGrabbable>().isGrabbed)
     {
         alreadygrabbed = false;
     }
     grabscoreText.text = "Grab: " + count;
 }

}

I would create a manager which will hold the entire score. Then i would put a separate script on every object (or make a list). When an object is grabbed it will add to the score of the manager and not to its own score.
