Prefab varibles not reseting

I kind of have a problem with a prefab gun with a given attack ratio. I have basically a Time.time>timeOfLastShot+reloadTime and if thats true a new shot can be fired.

The problem is that this is not reseted when I stop the game, the variable just stays at whatever it was when the gamed stopped.

have made a workaround where I moved the shot function to a non prefab but I would like to know if its possible to make it work with the prefab.

I have tried resetting it in the Awake function but that doesn't seem to work either. I have also made sure its a new object that i'm referencing.
