How to stop a vector3.moveTowards since it is getting stuck on walls.

I am creating a 2D grid-based movement, and I'm using Vector3.moveTowards. The only problem is, when I move into a wall, the player gets stuck since it won't ever reach its final destination. I tried using collision detectors to fix this, but it doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
