Honeycomb texture as "shield" without LWRP

I want to encapsulate a map with a simple honeycomb shield. My project does not use the new unity render pipelines so i need to do it with normal materials and shaders. The image below shows what i want to achieve (it does not need to have any fancy glow, just a transparent honeycomb shield that i am able to see from inside of it). I do have a transparent honeycomb texture if that is needed.


Any ideas on how to get this without the new render pipelines?

Please note, this image is taken from hiclipart.com. Since i am using it for a personal project that is totally fine.

I don't think you can create shaders without LWRP
