Trouble with it not showing errors.

Hi, so I am new to Unity and was watching a tutorial of how to make a game and followed the script and everything. but when it got to the point to test the script it wasn't working. I checked the console for errors but nothing popped up. I know that in the top right of the console you can filter stuff out and that didn't work either. I restarted Unity a few times which didn't work and then went and checked the code and tutorials multiple times. I am nearly 100% sure I typed everything in correctly since I went word for word over 5 times and have spent over 2 hours trying to fix it. Anyone know how to have unity say what the error in the script is? Edit... After I stoped and went asleep and check the next day it showed the error and I was able to fix it. I have an old laptop so maybe thats why im not sure but at least it's working now.
