How to add rotation to a 2d Sprite over time?

I'm working on an infinite runner where you control a car and have to avoid obstacles. Your only options of movement are left or right, pretty simple. To add more realism into the game I made the car look in the direction it's moving just like a real car switching lanes would. I made that using this script:

     void Update()
     {
         direction = (int)Input.GetAxisRaw("Horizontal");
 
         switch (direction)
         {
             //If going right turn 15 degrees that way
             case 1:
                 transform.eulerAngles = Vector3.forward * -15;
                 break;
             //If going left turn 15 degrees that way
             case -1:
                 transform.eulerAngles = Vector3.forward * 15;
                 break;
             //If going straight reset rotation to 0
             default:
                 transform.rotation = new Quaternion(0, 0, 0, 0);
                 break;
         }
     }

This works to some degree. It does turn the way I want to but it's an abrupt switch between 0 and 15 degrees. How can I make it rotate incrementally until it reaches the desired rotation?
