2D Angle Sprite Based on Momentum

I'm working on a 2D space shooter and want a HUD indicator that points in the direction my s$$anonymous$$p currently has momentum in. My though process was to place a c$$anonymous$$ld sprite on my playerS$$anonymous$$p that has an arrow at one end. Then rotate that sprite based on the angle that the playerS$$anonymous$$p momentum is heading. I'm aware my script is wrong, but can't seem to find a way to go from here.

 public GameObject playerS$$anonymous$$p;
 void Update()
 {
     Vector3 angle = playerS$$anonymous$$p.transform.position;   
     transform.position = angle;
 }

So my recollection of physics was a little fuzzy and apparently I needed the velocity component. So for anyone else out there new to Unity I hope t$$anonymous$$s will help you.

Script points sprite centered on playerS$$anonymous$$p in direction of velocity.

public GameObject playerS$$anonymous$$p;

 void Update()    {
     t$$anonymous$$s.transform.right = playerS$$anonymous$$p.GetComponent<Rigidbody2D>().velocity;
 }
