Unity installation low space error problem

hi, I downloaded "unity hub 2.4.3.0" and installed it in my D drive, my C drive is low in space. Now I opened unity hub and went to installs and when i try to add a version (Recommended release Unity 2020.3.8.f1(Lts)) i get an error "There is not enough space to download and install the selected items". My D drive has over 400Gb free space. Why this error is popping up while my unity hub is already installed in D drive. I went into unity hub settings and in Unity editors path selected the same folder where my unity hub is installed.

Please need help.

try downloading unity from the web directly and later locate it manually in unity hub.

Even if you install a program in D, it might need to add files in special places like in the appdata for example and its allways located in C.

When all the files of a program are located in the same directory its called a portable version, and it is not the most common case

To fix this you can change the location of your TEMP folder temporarily to install the Unity version you are wanting. Change the TEMP system variable to be set to the location in a folder on the drive that has the most space.

@Alvarez152 Thank you it worked. Now another thing if you can help with. When i create a project, the project files are created in the ''C:\Users\Shahzaib\AppData\Local'' in a folder named Unity and files are really big like near a one Gb, now we cannot move local folder as a whole as it will damage operating system, so what i did is i cut the unity folder went to my D: drive made a similar directory D:\Users\Shahzaib\AppData\Local and pasted Unity folder there and then created a junction with mklink /j and it worked but the problem is when project is created the space is still occupied in both C and D and if i delete the contents of folder in one drive it is deleted in other as well, like after creating a project, i deleted the contents of Unity in C drive, that caused deletion from D as well and project on opening again will again create files and again in both drives.
