Tags do not appear on objects

Hi I cannot get the tags to apper on my objects. Its a pretty straightforward operation however I would appreciate the assistance on what I may be doing wrong. Thanks!

In your screenshot - in the inspector, right next to your yellow block there is a block that says: untagged - click the down arrow and select the tag there.

I believe OP asks about object icons, not tags. Icon should be visible even on an untagged object. Switching Gizmos on and off might help. There also could be a separate switch for 2d Icons as well as for 3d icons in Gizmos tab in newer versions of Unity. I use 2019 now and it only has a switch for 3d icons. alt text
