Internal option,Internal only

Whenever I open preferences, external tools and select the dropdown of external script editor I get only internal option for Visual Studio, which then opens up individual instances of scripts without any suggestions. Please do help.

,Whenever I go to preferences, and select external tools, and select dropdown for external script editor, I get only internal options which then opens up scripts in different instances and without suggestions. It would be really helpful to get help.
