scene changes at random while mid-scene

I don't really have a lot of details. I am making a game with multiple levels. There is a level select scene and the respective level scenes.

However, sometimes, when I am mid-level play testing the game, my scene changes back to the menu select scene (it is the first scene in the scene builder index).

I have been trying to diagnose this issue but I cannot find anything of note. If anyone else has encountered such a bug, please let me know.

I am using Unity 2021.3.0f1

can't really say if we don't know what you are doing.. How do you change scenes? What is the sourcecode?
