GetComponent Problem with pragma strict

Hi. I have a problem with GetComponent, i have contoljs.js and PackedSprite.cs (this is sprite manager 2 code). PackedSprite is in Plugins/Sprite Scripts folder and controljs.js is in the root. Player has booth scripts. I used ;

var sprite1 : PackedSprite = gameObject.GetComponent("PackedSprite") ;

or

var sprite1 : PackedSprite = gameObject.GetComponent.() as PackedSprite ;

I tried a lot of diferent type and it didnt work. When i use :

    var sprite1 : MonoBehaviour ;

and select player from editor, it works but when i use pragma strict it doesnt work. So i have to use GetComponent but i didnt find how . I need help .

Did you try

 gameObject.GetComponent(PackedSprite) as PackedSprite;

or

 gameObject.GetComponent.<PackedSprite>();

?

You should post this as a comment, not as an actual answer. In any case, I think I see your problem here- JS doesn't like to talk to C# classes. This is why you should try to work in one language at a time- if you have a lot of JS scripts and a few C# ones, you should try to translate the $$anonymous$$ority to achieve conformity.

i use js for my game but i have to use S$$anonymous$$2 for sprites so basically

var sprite1 : PackedSprite = GetComponent("PackedSprite") ; should work but it dont.

Error is : The name 'PackedSprite' does not denote a valid type ('not found').

@syclamoth: there's no issue with JS using C# classes (or vice versa), it's just a matter of script compilation order. In JS there's no reason to write "`gameObject.GetComponent(PackedSprite) as PackedSprite;`", you can just write "`gameObject.GetComponent(PackedSprite);`" and it has the exact same effect.
