Question by Ben · Jul 08, 2010 at 02:03 PM · arrays

Array Exception

I am trying to get better acquainted with arrays but am having an issue with this code:

var obj1 : GameObject; var obj2 : GameObject; var obj3 : GameObject;

var objs = new Array();

function Start() {

 var objs = new Array(obj1,obj2,obj3);

 yield;
 for (var i=0; objs.length; i++){
     objs[i].gameObject.active = false;
     print ("removed " + i);
 }

}

The objects are being made inactive correctly, but I am getting this exception: "ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index is less than 0 or more than or equal to the list count."

What do I need to change to improve this code?

The for loop is wrong, it should be:

for (var i=0; i < objs.length; i++){

Yup. The problem is that in UnityScript objs.length seems to evaluate to true when greater than 0, so your loop just keeps on going.

Wow, UnityScript and auto-casting strikes again.

Thanks for the fix!
