Recording metrics?

How would you script the ability to save a new player and the time for the new player to complete a level of a game. Please give scripting examples. Thank you for your help.

We need more information about the platform you want to build your game on. And could you explain a little further by "save a new player and the time for the new player to complete a level of a game" ?

What, PlayerPrefs? Read through the entire script reference, and if you still don't have any ideas, come back here.

I want to build a game for the web platform. Whilst the game is running I want to record the amount of people that play the game as well as the amount of time that each person plays. For example to assoicate PlayerA with the 5 minutes of time they took to finish the game. How would I go about that using PlayerPrefs?

Player prefs gives you the capability of writing key / value pairs to a text file stored locally on the mac$$anonymous$$ne that the client is running. With "metrics" tracking such as yours, you're looking at creating database information. So, you would either have to learn how to create your own databases and make query calls ( take for example SQL queries ) to your database server to store the information, or look for a vendor that supplies these services.

There isn't a one all solution for t$$anonymous$$s if you decide to create it yourself. Another option would be to go to a t$$anonymous$$rd party analytics platform that stores t$$anonymous$$s information for you. Flurry is a good example of t$$anonymous$$s, and would do exactly what you're wanting:
