Top-down 2d Tactical RPG

Hey,

I've been considering jumping ship from XNA to Unity to develop a 2D RPG like Shining Force or Fire Emblem. I've been looking at the ORK RPG kit, Unitile, 2D Toolkit, etc., and it looks like it'll be possible. However, I'm concerned about how exactly to start development and setup of the maps and events. For example, how exactly would the collision and transparency be handled? I'm just a little apprehensive due to the lack of documentation for developing retro JRPGs with Unity.

You should ask this on the forums, since it's a discussion question that doesn't have a specific answer. There isn't really documentation for developing any specific game, you just learn Unity and then program it the way you want.
