I have some code for the zombie AI but....

I found some code on unity answers from cidmodder URL: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/22474/ai-zombie-attack-help-script.html I am currently making a FPS zombie video game and soon will publish it to the app store (Mac.) I am not very good at javascript yet and was wondering would i break the law if i used that code? It was posted for someone else to use and i need so code for my project. Is this legal? And if i do copyright my game will he get in trouble? Or will he prove that he wrote that code before i started the game?
AND FINALLY is the weapon script from the unity FPS tutorial copyrighted?

P.S. I am making a Zombie FPS… What should i name it?

Thanks!

Sam

The way I see it, if nothing is claimed then you can use it.

On the other hand, copyrighting something you did not develop might not be right. Think if everyone starts to do the same, the forum will not work anymore.

When you copyright your game you have to state on what extend, the name, the assets and among all how can eveything be used. For example, you may not allow anyone to use the name without your consent but you may let people use your code freely regarding they provide your name somewhere. You should have a look at the EULA before it all.

Those pages might give an idea of how to get your game going without any trouble.

Thanks! This helped me a lot! I will begin to write my own code now! I can’t wait until my game is complete
