Question by DaveA · Oct 12, 2010 at 09:02 PM · texturerenderingmobilecolor

Colors wrong on mobile device

Why might it be that, on mobile (esp Android), some of my objects have the wrong color. Seems to be a matter of distance from camera. Sometimes blue, green, red, not sure there is a pattern, maybe it's texture dependent? Anyway, even one object may have the correct appearance on the parts near the camera, and be completely, say, blue, further away.

This is only on the device itself? Otherwise, I'd say your texture probably has widely-varying areas of color, which show themselves only through mipmaps.

Device only yes. Looks a bit like posterizing (loss of bit depth), but pretty severe - going to 1 bit. These can be textures of very very little difference in color, just a bit of noise to make it look more interesting.
