Question by Develogamer · Aug 14, 2012 at 10:48 PM · movementrigidbodycolliders

Player Sphere Collider randomly bounces up

Hi, im having a problem with my players sphere collider. He is a rigidbody with gravity and is moved using AddForce(); he is a sphere that moves on a flat surface made up of box colliders. when he is moving at random times/locations it pops up. I have found similar issues suggesting to check for multiple colliders and such but mine only has one collider and a rigidbody. any help is appreciated, thanks!

Update: The force is being applied by rigidbody.AddForce(new Vector3(speed, 0, 0)); meaning its not random but on the x axis

also, i doubt its something on the script i think it has something to do with the sphere and its rigidbody, but i'm not sure.

Update 2: Ok so now i know its for sure not a code issue, my floor is made up of many broken up cubes, but their all identical size and are all positioned exactly at the same y value, and the same distance apart(I've tried slightly overlapping and exactly touching and neither worked), i have no idea why the player would bounce up randomly if they are positioned the same as if they were a single piece

If the force is being randomized maybe sometimes the Y gets too strong and it "bounces";

The force is being applied as rigidbody.AddForce(new Vector3(speed, 0, 0)); So it would not be random its only along the X axis, ill update that to the question

Also post your code in the question, it's hard too see whats happening without code.
