Move Object in its own X - axis to and fro, on mouse drag

alt texthey I wana move a particular object in its own X- axis to and fro, by dragging with mouse drag. But the Object should not exceed it X max and min position even if I keep dragging it with mouse, The object should move in that limit only, same like a slider bar. Actully I want to control the particle emission with this object slide movement.I have also writen a script for it but the object move in positive X - axis but not in ngeative X - axis. Plz reply where i am going wrong Or I have to go other way.

`private var count = 0;

function OnMouseDrag(){ transform.Translate(0.01,0,0); count = transform.position.x; print(count); if(count>=648) // the value 648 is my object X max position { transform.Translate(-0.01,0,0); count = transform.position.x; } } `

Try this

  OnMouseDrag(){

    if( count >= 648 ){
       transform.Translate(-0.01,0,0);
       count = transform.position.x;
    }
    else {
       transform.Translate(0.01,0,0);
       count = transform.position.x;
    }

    print( count );

 }

Also, if you need the local space ins$$anonymous$$d of world space (if the object will ever rotate in any way) try this:
