Question by grimmy · Aug 30, 2012 at 03:34 PM · serverassetportassetserver

Can I change the Asset Server default port from 10733?

Why you may ask? Well it looks like here in Argentina, my ISP has decided not to allow me to configure the router to modify port forwarding.

I figured that if I can modify the port to something that the router already accepts them I'm good.

Unless anyone knows any other way around this?

Hi Grimmy,

You sure can. You need to go into the asset servers scripts directory, and your services directory and manually edit the scripts to start and admin the server with the parameter "-p 1066" for example.

We use this method over at http://www.assetserverhosting.com/ so I know it works well provided you find all of the locations which run a PSQL command.

Let me know how you get on!

Rob
