Question by strobegen · Oct 25, 2012 at 05:31 AM · licenselicenseslicencelicencing

Is possible to use two different Unity licenses with different serials from different accounts on the same machine?

My case is - I have Unity basic iOs, Android license personally and I have Unity pro from my employer (is diffrent account), and i have one computer.

  • I need to use Unity pro for employer projects

  • I need to use Unity basic iOs, Android for my personal project

How I can do that? or might be for it I have to buy another computer or install two different OS ?

Install two Unity instances by changing one's installation folder and activate them separately.

I tried this, but after I renamed old unity and instal new copy to new folder - second copy of unity automatically started using first activated license. (mac osx)

Also I guess if I'll go to Enter Serial Number dialog and reactivate with different serial - both copies will start using new license

@sarper: this will not work since Unity use a per-machine license (well in fact it is a per OS installation).

Two solutions:

  1. Use two different computers. Your employer should provide you with a professional computer (at least this is how it is done in my country).

  2. Use a virtual machine or install two OS on the same machine.
