Referencing variables in other scenes?

Hello. This is the a trimmed down version of the script I am using to display the score during gameplay. I want to have a "game over" scene that displays that score, how do I reference/display the score in another scene? Do I have to use player prefs? How exactly do you use that(I have seen the docs, so you just put the name of the variable and it saves it and its able to be displayed anytime? Thanks.

Hey!

I do this with a gameobject that stays with you as you go through the different scenes. That gameobject wil be set to: DontDestroyOnLoad And wil have the script with the variables that you'll always need attached.

Also make sure you only enter the scene where this Gameobject is first added only once (a splash screen for instance) or you'll end up duplicating it every time you enter that scene.

maybe there are better ways but this works just fine for me!
