edit (copied from answer amd reformatted)

 using UnityEngine;
 using System.Collections;

 public class playerHealth : MonoBehaviour
 {
     public int maxHealth = 100;
     public int curHealth = 100;

     public float healthBarLength;

     // Use this for initialization
     void Start ()
     {
         healthBarLength = Screen.width / 2;
     }

     // Update is called once per frame
     void Update ()
     {
         AddjustCurrentHealth (0);
     }

     void OnGUI()
     {
         GUI.Box (new Rect(10, 10,healthBarLength, 20), curHealth + "/" + maxHealth);
     }
 }

 public void AddjustCurrentHealth(int adj)
 {
     curHealth += adj;
     if (curHealth < 0)
         curHealth = 0;

     if (curHealth > maxHealth)
         curHealth = 0;

     if (maxHealth < 1)
         maxHealth = 1;
     healthBarLength = (Screen.width / 2) * (curHealth /(float)maxHealth);
 }

As far as I can tell the code you posted isn't the issue however, how you have your code formatted doesn't help the cause for finding bugs.

I've edited your question since you posed your code as "answer". I've also reformatted your code. As you can see your "AddjustCurrentHealth" function is outside of your class playerHealth.

Keep your code formatted to spot such wrongly placed brackets easier.

error CS0116: A namespace can only contain types and namespace declarations

This is thrown when you have things declared before the class name, so the top of the code where it says "using UnityEngine;" "using System.Collections;", which isnt shown in your code snippet is where the issue should be.
