Question by Alma · Nov 28, 2012 at 12:31 AM · collisiongravityinvisible

Cube on a plane - ball moves slowly twds it and goes through it?!?!

I need to tell the cubes to resist/not-let-through objects that approach them from the sides (just as it does for objects colliding with them from the top through Gravity).

Thank you!

Have you got colliders enabled on all objects?

Hi Darker9999, No - so far I only have 1 collider that is on the Sphere - I have tried to add colliders to the cubes but the result did not change. I have searched for an answer to this question for a while; It seems to me that it has been asked different times in different ways but no definite answer was ever given. It just seems weird to me as the Unity software is really great and I think a glitch like that is weird. Cheers, Alma

so I created a scene with a standard plane at a slight angle, a standard cube and a standard sphere with a rigidbody attached. This worked perfectly, I would do this to check collisions are working correctly, if this work fine then it means that it is likely one of your scripts causing the issue. What causes the objects to move? Also check you layer collision matrix, its under edit>project settings>physics.

@Alma every thing works fine if we do it right ways.....there are some basic rules for detecting the collision between two object one of the objects should be rigidbody.....both have colliders etc....so try watching tutorials on youtube there are many on collision and other basic stuff......Hope this will work for you......if found this usful dont forget to Rightmark........

Hi guys, thank you for your help. The issue was either a script or a setting as - I started a fresh project and fiddling around with Gravity, Friction, Kinetic etc did it. All the best, Alma
